More dedications, not much else to say. I wonder how much the ratings have jumped due to all the Antonella scandal, etc?
Gina Glocksen: Sang "Alone" and dedicated it to her boyfriend of two years. I really like this girl and her voice. She sang it very well, but didn't knock it out like Carrie Underwood did. Simon had a problem with her look and was a little incoherent about it. The dress was pretty awful, but her hair and makeup looked nicer than last week.
Alaina Alexander: Dedicated to her Mom, "Not Ready to Make Nice". Better song choice than last time, but vocals sounded weak and all over the place. It did get better for me after she stepped away from the mic stand, but overall not good.
LaKisha Jones: "Midnight Train to Georgia" dedicated to her adorable grandmother. I've heard the comparisons to Mandisa, but I like LaKisha much better. Randy thought it was rough in the beginning, sounded perfect to me.
Melinda Doolittle: Dedicated "My Funny Valentine" to her two best friends. She hates clothes and shopping and I completely relate to that - another reason to like her! The performance at times was too shouty and glorynote-ish for my taste. If not for that, it would have been perfect.
Antonella Barba: Took on Celine's "Because You Loved Me" and dedicated it to her brother. She looked like a sexy 70's housewife, from the fugly dress to the accessories, but that is the stylist's fault though. The vocals were very rough in the beginning and then were just various shades of rough all throughout. And some attitude showed through when Randy gave his accurate critique - THEN she compares herself to JHud. Please, send this girl home.
Jordin Sparks: I love this girl and just want to hug her! Also dedicated to her brother, "My Reflection". It started out a little slow and a tad boring for me, but ended beautifully. I can't believe this girl is only 17!
Stephanie Edwards: First off, loved the earrings. Dedicated "Dangerously in Love" to her Mom and Dad. I don't care for the song or Beyonce, but tried to put that aside. While it was good, I liked last week so much better. The fun little squeal at the end made me smile.
Leslie Hunt: As I type this, I already for got what song she sang! I was pretty meh on the whole thing and didn't care for the scatting at all. Although she wasn't the worst IMO, she is kind of forgettable and is in danger of going home tomorrow night.
Haley Scarnato: Sang Whitney Houston song "Queen of the Night", dedicated to the fiancee. WOW, the hair was insane and while she didnt' reach Nicole proportions of crazy singing, it was very very close. So yeah, didn't care for it at all but did feel bad for her when she teared up.
Sabrina Sloan: Another Whitney Houston song, dedicated to Grandma. She has a gorgeous voice and was so much better last week and the reason why is because she was so controlled. This time, there was too much glory-noting and with a voice like hers, she doesn't have to do that.
Top 2: Jordin Sparks and Melinda Doolittle
Bottom 2: Antonella Barba and Haley Scarnato

Is it just me or did Antonella intentionally sabotaged the competition herself? I can't believe she would go from earnestly asking advice on how she could do better from last week to rolling eyes, being sarcastic, and talking back at Simon. I don't believe much in conspiracy theories but this is AI, y'all! Conspiracies abound! Maybe they let her stay on the condition that she should suck in her performance and be voted off supposedly because of that and make everything look legit. That way, AI is spared less controversies compared to DQ'ing her. Just me though.
I love Melinda's MFV if only because it was infinitely better than the ConMan's performance 2 years ago.
And because I'm totally, 100% biased, I didn't like Gina's Alone. I thought she was pitchy in the beginning, and then went all shouty at the chorus. Seriously, who'd want the comparison to Carrie's Alone, unless you're really, really sure you can totally bring it.
All others, I can't remember. I just had them in the background while doing other stuff. My, my, I think I'm beginning to be immune to AI now... (I didn't even watch last night's top 10 boys. Heh.)
More on Antonella, since I was an idiot to forget in my first post:
I was thinking if AI at least wants her to stay to make it to the top 12, I think they would have played by her the sympathy vote. Like Paula would've went: "You've really had a rough week, Antonella, and I'm proud of you for holding it together..." And then Antonella would oblige us the required tears for that. Man, if that scene played out, she would have won this thing right then and there.
Gina Glocksen: Brave girl to take on a song that Carrie Underwood so thoroughly knocked out of the park 2 years before her. I like Gina. She certainly didn't do bad but she didn't have that wow factor like Carrie did (perhaps she needed some big 80's hair), plus the back up singers overpowered her at times. That being said, I hope she doesn't go home tonight.
Alaina Alexander: What a weird song to dedicate to your mom. I really didn't enjoy this. I agree with Randy that the wheels kind of fell off the wagon midway. She is in my bottom 2 tonight.
LaKisha Jones: First off, I loved her dedication! So sweet. Not as good as last wee but I thought she did a great job again.
Melinda Doolittle: In my best Jack MacFarland voice: "LOVE HER!" She is so incredibly awesome and wowed me agan this week. And can i just say, I want a 'Gayle' who is also my stylist and will give me a little instruction manual for how to dress every day. Where can I get one of those?
Antonella Barba: The audacity to try to compare herself to J-Hud killed it right there. Good-bye Antonella. You can go home now.
Jordin Sparks: I love this girl and just want to hug her! Couldn't agree more Spork. It amazes me that this girl is only 17. That was a terrific song choice for her. Very age appropriate although it wasn't a perfect performance. She still did great and I want to see her well into the finals.
Stephanie Edwards: I thought she looked terrific last night but I had no idea what that song was she was singing. I enjoyed it though and she did a great job.
Leslie Hunt: Here is what I've decided about Leslie. She is this season's Lindsey Cardinale for me. I loved Lindsey's voice in season 4 and wanted her to do well but for whatever reason (nerves or song choice), she just never quite got it together on the show. But like Lindsey, I have a feeling I would love Leslie doing her own material where she's in her comfort zone.
Haley Scarnato: I wasn't paying close enough attention to know whether the back-up singers were doing most of the heavy lifting on this one but I really just didn't care for this song however she did do better than last week.
Sabrina Sloan: I liked her performance better last week but again, she should definitely be in the top 6.
Top 2: Melinda and a tie between Jordin and Lakisha.
Bottom 2: Antonella and Alaina
Carrie Underwood is a no talent, overrated country hack who sounds like K.D. Lang on crack. What has she done in the music industry? She has brought absolutely nothing to the industry. I died laughing when her and Rascall Flatts embarrassed themselves ruining and butchering the Eagles.
15 minutes
Grammy or not. Elvis has none and he is more well known that that big chinned drag queen feces singer.
Tic Toc
Alone was ruined by Scary Underwood. She butchered it worse than Glocksen. It's a rock song, not a country pop song. Carrie Underwood is cheesy and the only people that like her are white trash with no music taste.
Carrie Underwood butchered Crying by Roy Orbison.
Jordin is way overrated. She's out of shape and she has really heavy breathing. Really tacky singer. She huffs and puffs trying to control her notes. Someone should vote that pig off. The other women were bad, but she's a pig and needs to be kicked off.

but she's a pig and needs to be kicked off.
Anonymous, I am sure you can think of more intelligent stuff than this next time you post. ;)
Like Paula would've went: "You've really had a rough week, Antonella, and I'm proud of you for holding it together..."
I was expecting this as well, perfectly choreographed with Paula taking a very sympathetic tone and Antonella's chin quivering and doe eyes filling with tears. We didn't get that, but her entitled attitude showed, esp when sandwiched between two very talented and obviously humble people.
Oh Haley, don't you know that if you choose a Whitney song you need to be at least half as good? And Queen Of The Night is a huge numbr, her voice isn't big enough for that.
Stephanie is good, I am a fan of Beyonce (for the most part) and I think Stephanie did a good job, not quite Beyonce but still, ok.
I really like Jordin, she has a lovely voice, I think she's pretty. A few pitchy notes but overall, I liked it.
Melinda!! Oh she rocks my socks. She is so sweet, I just want to give her a big hug and then she can sing to me. I love her, she's my favourite.
Alaina, yeah not great really, in fact it was quite bad. It was really strained.
Antonella was just even worse this week. Has she given up; resigned to the fact American thinks she is a slut so sang really badly? Or maybe she just cant sing.
Lakisha sang one of my all time favourite songs and sang it really well. She was my second favourite.
Was Alone the right song choice for Gina? Hmmm well it was risky because this song BELONGS to Carrie in terms of Idol. She hit most of the notes but it just didn't have the depth that Carrie's did. I wasn't knocked out by it but she did better than some of the other ladies.
Overall, they are still better than the boys.
Top 2: Melinda and Lakisha
Bottom 2: Antonella and Alaina.
Ps. Anonymous, I'm not sure if Carrie has butchered any song she has performed and I do love her but I'm not trash and I'm not even sure I'm what you'd call white either. I do love me some cheese though, mmmm...
I just watched Gina's Alone again and then Carrie's and I have to say that I now believe that Ginashouldn't have chosen that song. It was to soon after Carrie because if Carrie is to be remembered by most people for ONE song from idol then it will be Alone (probably) and Gina's does not compare favorably. Gina did shout it for most of the song and that was (to back up my original statement) because of teh fact her voice didn't have the depth, or power. And the backing singers didn't blend with her whereas with Carrie it was amazing.
She isn't in my botom two and I don't think she should leave yet but she should have left Alone...alone.
Gina was spectacular but her rendition of "Alone" was ok, is it fair to compare her to Carrie who knocked it out....probably not.
Alaina just sucked for me last night. She was all over the place and then she kind of got attitude. She's in my bottom 2.
I love Lakisha, thought she did better last week, but she's great nonetheless.
Melinda was great, she's seems so nice and humble. Simon was right, that's why people love her. And I, too, would like to know where to find a "Gayle".
Antonella's dress was so distracting that it took the edge off her crappy performance, bottom 2 please.
Jordin is so good for being so young! But I would never cry over my brother like that, does that make me a bad person? :(
I loooveed Stephanie last week but this week I wasn't feelin it. Maybe it was the song.
I didn't like the song Leslie sang when AJ sang it the night before and I just don't think Miss Leslie is going to be around much longer.
Haley reminds me of one of those prissy girls that I have an uncontrollable urge to slap. Stop the crying and take the criticism!
Sabrina finished off the show nicely, nothing great but she'll be around for awhile.
Haley reminds me of one of those prissy girls that I have an uncontrollable urge to slap. Stop the crying and take the criticism!
You know Haley's crying kind of rubbed me the wrong way too. I understand that 2 weeks in a row of criticism is rough and you have to be thinking, "What do they want from me!?" but I was like, you know what? People have gotten criticized by the judges a LOT worse that she did. Just ask Anthony.
Haley cried last week and was all "I'm going to stay true to myself" and then the crying this week...it's just a little much. Sweetie just needs to grow a pair and deal.
DAYUM! You two are brutal!
The tears got to me, I felt bad for her. Strangely enough, the tears towards the end of the competition annoy me.
Crying is for the weak!!
LOL! J/K
I'm a sucker for crying too. Jordan's crying about how much she loves her brother was really touching. Sundance's crying the night before talking about missing his baby got me choked up. Pickler getting misty while singing the song 'I Wonder' about her mom who abandoned her...I felt for her. Haley crying on stage because Simon was mean to her...not so much. Simon is mean to EVERYONE at some point. Suck it up girl!
