Anthony Fedorov....Where has he been, where is he now?

Anthony Fedorov was the first person that I ever became a true fan of. I can't to this day describe what exactly it was that drew me to him, but I became a huge fan of his the night he sang "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" and have remained one ever since.

Since Anthony was voted off Idol in 4th place and then went on the American Idol tour with the rest of the Top 10, where in the midst of the tour we discovered his love and incredible talent for singing Spanish music. He has since been working on an album, which he hopes will have a couple Spanish tracks. One of his Spanish songs, Culpame, can be heard on http://www.idolwaves.com/charts and had recently spent 3 weeks at number one.

In addition to writing, recording and performing at private events, Anthony has also done some fun things like Celebreality Fear Factor, where he was teamed with Carmen Rasmussen (American Idol Season 2) and was a judge on MTV's Triple Threat. He also made some public performances, which quite a few lucky fans of his travelled great distances to see. Here are some youtube clips to enjoy.

At Kellogg's Night With The Idols (March 2006)

Still Loving You http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJF9AQgZKW8

In April 2006, he had a performance at the Rumba Room in Los Angeles and the Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington DC.

"I Got You" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDC9MgGQLWs

At Beachfest in Misquamicut, RI (July 2006)

Loving Angels Instead http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwftZFan5vc

Days in Avalon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxV1M7wuydI

At Spiediefest in Binghampton, NY (August 2006)

That's Okay http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xorJ-Y3tsg8

Italian Song (title unknown) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3z2nVwyVt8

Mini-Tour with the Idols in Texas (October 2006)

I Am Your Angel (with Melissa McGhee) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQit8SwcF-4

Historia de un Amor http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRfQJVq6QSg

Never Over (for Denis Fedorov) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xpg3f3byAJ8

Anthony has sang our National Anthem publicly several times. In my opinion, he does the best rendition of the Star Spangled Banner of any other male singer out there.

At Madison Square Garden 12/11/06 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDNUi1yR3tU

It looks like 2007 is going to be Anthony Fedorov's year! He has been named the Spokesperson for the Sarcoma Foundation of America http://www.curesarcoma.org/. Anthony's brother, Denis Fedorov, succumbed to this type of cancer in September 2006 and Anthony has said this is his other calling - to help find a cure for this cancer and others.

Anthony will be appearing (along with Ace, Mandisa, Nadia, and Jessica) at Dolphin Stadium in Sunrise, Florida on April 7, 2007 and also touring US Airforce bases in April 2007 http://www.kasports.com/extremesummer.htm to perform for the troops. And the best news yet is......

Anthony has been chosen to play "Matt" in The Fantasticks! This role is perfect for him and this opportunity has been a long time in coming. More information regarding the play, performances and tickets can be found here. http://www.playbill.com/news/article/105571.html

2007 is shaping up to be a huge year for Anthony, what many of us fans have been waiting for and I can't think of a more deserving person.

Wow Spork, thank you so much for the detailed summary. The thing that stands out to me when I watch those performances is how much he loves being on stage. I can't wait to hear more about his run on The Fantastiks and I hope he enjoys his time there. Maybe Broadway is in his future. Maybe a recording contract is. Hopefully he can do it all and share this gift that he has with as wide an audience as possible.

Aww...thank you so much for that trip down memory lane. My personal fav is the Kellogg's Idol Tour. Nothing like the image of hundreds of screaming 12 year olds to associate with Anthony's hips.

Ah Anthony Fedorov, AFed; great guy.

Since honesty seems to be the theme of this sickeningly wonderful blog I shall not break the cycle.

At first, Anthony was just the cute blonde that wasn't Carrie on Idol. I loved "Hold On To The Night", even though the judges said it was boring, I thought it had the awww factor but that was it really. The next time I noticed him was when he sang "Everytime You Go Away", and boy did I notice him; I loved his performance. "Everytime youuuu goooooo" *sigh*

Yeah then I noticed him, I was kind of hooked and he began to grow up in front of my eyes, my my Anthony.

So yes, I became an Anthony fan and as I sit here typing while listening to Culpame, I don't question why.

I know he'll be a huge hit on the stage and I think it could just be the little push he needed for the album release. Yes, it will be pushed back but I still think that we'll see that Anthony Fedorov album.

I wish that I could say I was an Anthony fan from his audition like some can. I always liked Anthony and hoped he would go far, but was mainly a Bo fan at first, but Anthony def grew on me and I am STILL a fan. That says a lot because my attention span re celebrities is pretty short.

I have high hopes that his run on The Fantastiks will not only gain him some new fans, but will also cause the record execs to give him a second look and offer him the major label deal that he really wants and deserves.

I hate to say it but I didn't become a big fan of Anthony until AFTER the Idol season. I mean I always liked him in an 'aw, he's so cute' in that dorktastic kind of way, but it wasn't until I saw videos of him singing on the AI tour where I was like, WOW! He's...good! I think it was 'Historia de un Amor' that put me right over the edge. It didn't matter that I had no idea what he was singing. I just knew I wanted him to keep singing it. Since then, Anthony has shown in all of his performances that he's just getting started. He just keeps improving and getting better and better. He's figuring out who he is as a singer and performer and is coming into his own. I just can't wait to see where he goes from here.

Considering how much he seems to have grown as a performer and even as a person, I think he could win AI today.

Things happen for a reason though and right now might be where he is meant to be. I will be following his career for a long, long time.

Fed has really done a lot of growing up in the past two years, didn't he? I can't believe that's the same awkward, skinny boy we saw back in AI.

Is there someone in here who would be catching his play?

Thanks for the summary. I am proud to say that I've attended most of his post-Idol performances (or is it disturbing ? lol). I will be there for his opening night in the Fantasticks and several performances after that, as well as the Gala.

Reminder to self: get a second job.

Its not disturbing, I would probably do the same thing if I could.

Miss K from here might be going to the Fantasticks as well.

Anthony is also going to be featured on Entertainment Weekly Online as a part of a panel of past contestents critiquing the judging and contestants each week on this season of Idol.

He is certainly doing everything he can to keep his face and name front and center this year. When Access Hollywood did a where are they now blog recently: http://blogs.nbcuni.com/AHBlog/2007/02/idol_update_where_are_they_now_2.php

Anthony certainly came off as one of the season 4 contestants with the most promise and potential success in the coming year.

Thanks for the blog Spork. I have been a fan since his audition in Cleveland and have seen him perform after the AI concerts as well. I will be attending the Fantasticks and cannot wait--3rd rows on the 12th. There will be plenty of Anthony fans attending the play as well as a good handful attending the gala. Check out anthonyfanclub.com/forum for all the updates.

I too fell under Anthony's spell from his first audition. Carrie was my second fave, but no one can hold a candle to Anthony, ever. There is only one other singer that I feel anywhere near as strongly as I do about Anthony.
I have not been able to attend any of his post idol performances to date, although I hope that will change really soon. I did have the pleasure of meeting Anthony when he was on tour with American Idol, and he was such a sweetheart.
His effect on my life has been profound, more than anyone who reads this will ever know or understand.
He has my support, goodwill and devotion forever.
