Don't be afraid, the only British that invaded this time were harmless old Peter Noone and spunky Lulu. I like 60's music, so I am looking forward to this!
Haley Scarnato: Sang "Tell Him". YES! I loved her performance and for the first time, felt she deserved her spot in the Top 11. She was so much fun, seems to have lost her nerves and shook what the good lord gave her. Very cute outfit and I am sure her bare back got her some votes. "Naughty little thing!" Of course, Simon knows her name now and I am glad. This one has grown on me.
Chris Richardson: Sang "Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying". Peter Noone told him to watch the vibrato. Is that British for nasal? First off, Chris is damn sexy and sometimes that distracts me. Anyway, this was a great performance, but nasally at times, particularly during the "birds siiiiiinnnnggg" part. The falsetto at the end was very VERY nice. He will be awesome on the tour.
Stephanie Edwards: Sang "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me". I love this song and she sounded great singing it for Lulu, so what happened? It started really rough and she looked pained, like she lost her nerve. There were some rough notes scattered throughout and it was just boring. Ahhh, so disappointing. The judges agreed that something was missing here and I think she is in danger of being voted off tomorrow. I hope that doesn't happen.
Blake Lewis: Sang "Time and the Season". WOW the beginning was HOT and then the whole hip rocking when he sang the "Who's your daddy" line....*fans self* What can I say? And then the whole eyef*cking thing that Constantine made famous, but used to skeeve me? Blake did it so much better and I felt anything but skeeved. I am now officially in love with Blake Lewis, where before it was just a simple crush. The whole performance, clothes, vocals were sexy and smooth. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
Then Ryan had to ruin the whole mood by dancing with Blake and singing "who's your daddy". Dude, do not try and have a piece of CAKE. Their love is pure and rare, there is no place in it for you.
LaKisha Jones: Sang "Diamonds Are Forever" while rocking the Sanjaya poodle hair. I don't really care for the song or even her performance of it. While this pains me to type this, it was really REALLY boring to me. She should have gone with the other song, whatever that was.
Phil Stacey: Sang "Tobacco Road". Overall, I did enjoy his performances but some of the vocals were pretty off. He is like the Stephanie of the guys and is really overshadowed by the CAKE. I wish him luck, he'll need it.
Jordin Sparks: Sang "I Who Have Nothing". I wasn't familiar with the song, but I loved this performance. She sang it like a grown up, a mature woman who knew what this song was all about. That is talent right there for a young girl. She is my favorite of the night so far.
Sanjaya Malakar: Sang "You Really Got Me" and I have to say, it really was the best thing he has ever done! The entire performance for me was a memorable combination of laughter, cringing, and then cringing some more during the primal screaming part. However, his vocals sounded strong to me for the first time. And was the girl in pigtails for real? He is really a nice boy and it was very sweet when he gave Pigtails a hug. I still can't believe he made it this far, but I don't mind it so much now that he finally entertained me, but probably not in the way he thinks.
Sanjaya is going to be on the tour, y'all. Say goodbye to either Stephanie or Phil.
Gina Glocksen: Sang "Paint It Black", which is one of my all time favorite songs. The verses were really rough and then the choruses were too shouty. Simon was right, it was torture at times. You are so much better than this, Gina!
Chris Sligh: Sang "She's Not There" while coming through the crowd. Why? He just ignored most of them anyway. Good vocals, meh performing. And he was defensive again and a little overbearing with the judges. I really liked him a month ago, now not so much.
Melinda Doolittle: Sang "As Long As He Needs Me". Love the new hair! To be honest, she didn't WOW me with this song like she has with others, but it was still very very good. And yes Simon, she really is that nice!
All in all, it was a really great night. I no longer fear for an all female Top 6.
Top three (in order): Blake, Jordin and Melinda
Bottom three (no order): Sanjaya, Stephanie and Phil.

Haley Scarnato: I really love the song "Tell Him" and I was praying that she would do it justice and she did not let me down! What a great job! She does have a lot of stage presence and you know when she's not crying she's really quite likable.
Chris Richardson: Well this was my favorite ballad that he has sung. he doesn't have my favorite voice because it's still nasally but I loved the arrangement, he didn't push and throw runs in there all willy nilly, and he did a good job this week. Plus, he's so nice to look at.
Stephanie Edwards: Honestly, I was not too impressed tonight and I'm going to agree with Simon and say that it DID sound "night clubby". And if I were Stephanie, I wouldn't get too excited about people always telling me I sound just like Beyonce. We already have Beyonce. We don't need another one. You need to find your own voice.
Blake Lewis: I was a little distracted by my hate for the grandpa pants. Blake, the plaid does nothing for your tushie. I'm just saying. That being said, I loved the arrangement and his performance was terrific.
The whole Ryan and the 'Who's your Daddy' dance...we'll just let that one go.
LaKisha Jones: I love Lakisha but I did not love this song choice or performance. I think she should have listened to LuLu. As Spork said, this was rather boring.
Phil Stacey: I like that he did something upbeat and he was having fun but I thought his voice was all over the board on this one. Not my favorite.
Jordin Sparks: Sang a song about a stalker girlfriend and kicked it in the a**!! Favorite of the night!
Sanjaya Malakar: I usually think Sanjaya sounds like he is singing in a high school talent show. Tonight it sounded like he got drunk with his buddies first and THEN performed at the high school talent show. But hey, Pigtails liked it so I guess it's all good.
Gina Glocksen: Love the song. Loved her look. Did not enjoy the singing part so much. I still like you Gina! I don't want you to go home so stop doing that with the bad singing.
Chris Sligh: The beginning part was just bad to me. He didn't sound good and by the time he got to the part where he sounded better, I had lost interest.
Melinda Doolittle: Her singing is just flawless! But I did find this to be a little old fashioned.
Top three (in order): Jordin, Melinda, Blake
Bottom three (no order): Sanjaya, Stephanie and Phil.
Blake is asking: "Who's your daddy?"
YOU BLAKE, YOU!!!!!!!!
Although I didn't hate his performance last week, I agree with Simon that this is a million times better! Blake is just oozing with sex appeal!!!! And Ryan, no matter how hard you try, there'll be no Ryake and never will be, so back off my Blake!!!
DialIdol's bottom 3 is Chris, Gina and Haley in that order, and since the beginning, Melinda still safely leads the pack. Let's see if that holds up. DI was so off last week, they shouldn't have predicted anything at all.
DialIdol's bottom 3 is Chris, Gina and Haley in that order
What? Not my Chris!
Anyway...
Haley: Love that song and thought she did a great job. Much much better and so nice not to have to yell at the tv for the girl to stop crying.
Chris: LOVE HIM! Loved his performance, I just love everything about the boy. I'm smitten.
Stephanie: Can't even remember her performance, was it any good?
Blake: Oh that was nice...very very nice. How he took such a boring song and made it almost dirty is beyond me but damn that was good. And Rulz, I liked the pants, if anyone can pull if off...Blake can.
Lakisha: I usually am such a fan, last night just didn't do it for me. I do love diamonds though.
Phil: Was anyone else expected a barbershop quartet to join him any minute on stage? It was good, not great, just good.
Jordin: I loved it when Tom Jones sang it and I loved it when Jordin sang it. She's good.
Sanyucka: Darn if this boy doesn't keep ruining songs I like. errrr Just go home, become pen pals with Pigtails and stop ruining songs I like.
Gina: Oy! I don't know, I just didn't like it. Too much hair flippin and shirt swinging.
Chris S.: I think Chris has lost his ooomph and just isn't doing anything for me. His time may be numbered.
Melinda: Loved it! Nuff said.
Woo Haley working the Underwood shorts and heels! Yes this was by far her best performance yet. She acrually looked like she was having fun too. Still the weakest female idol.
I think Chris is great. I think he just needs to control the nasal thing because essentially it is an extension of his singing style. But he's lovely and cute too.
I just can't connect with Stephanie; I just don't care enough about her to be honest. She can sing but I need more. Wasn't a fan this week and I didn't like the outfit either. Sorry!
I think Blake is gonna rock thehouse on tour with his style and beatboxing. I just hope he leaves the pants at home.
Ok so Lakisha needs to mix things up now, evolve a little so she's not the same every week. It was okay.
Still not a huge fan of Phil.
Jordin, you go girl. Oh I love this cutie she's just fabulous. I think she's growing every week and I so want her do go far in this competition. Great performance this week and I think she has replaced Stephanie in the big three female voices.
Ohh that girl with the pigtails! It's girls like her to are voting to him!! Them and their mother's that is...STOP!
Was Sanjaya wearing shoulder pads?! WTF?
They have obviously told him to go for it and umm sing big and he so did. It made me LOL but you know what, he's so sweet and young so I hope he doesn't read the bad things people are saying. Keep him away from this blog...
Ok so Paint It Black is also one of my favourite songs but Gina girl, that wasn't good. I am rooting for Gina to sing better I hope she finds a song where she can shine.
Chris Sligh was just ok this week. I'm still glad he is on the show and I want to be wowed by him again so hopefully that will be next week.
I just adore Melinda so much. It was a kind of middle of the road song but her voice and performance was right on as usual. She hasn't put a foot wrong yet and I'm with Randy, she is a PRO! I love the hair too.
Oh and what is WRONG with that little girl? Is someone hurting her?
Please vote Sanjayer out, or Stephanie I guess, or Phil!
Oh and what is WRONG with that little girl? Is someone hurting her?
You know I was thinking the same thing. I kept wondering if she was in pain. I don't think happiness should cause you to make those faces.
What? Not my Chris!
I am thinking its Chris S, at least I hope. I have switched my fan-ness to Chris R.
Ohh that girl with the pigtails! It's girls like her to are voting to him!! Them and their mother's that is...STOP!
I KNOW! I am not as annoyed by him like I used to be. He is the anti-Pickler. I liked Kellie at first but as time went on she bugged and I just wanted her gone. With Sanjaya, the more he is on I don't mind all that much and am fascinated by how long he has lasted.
That is until he stays and someone I really like (Blake, LaKisha, Melinda, Chris R) is gone. THEN ITS ON! j/k
What? Not my Chris!
Sorry, I meant Sligh.
Sorry, I meant Sligh
Whew...talk about making a girl panic.
Should not it be Rake ?
And I just can't get on Chris R's bandwagon. He is cute, as long as he does not sing. And then he starts with the scary faces and the nasal voice. Not good.
I agree the top 3 are Jordin, Melinda and Blake. Lakisha is going to be the shock elimination of the season.
Lakisha is going to be the shock elimination of the season.
You know unless she does something to bring some excitement back into her performances, I think you might be right.
Should not it be Rake ?
Whether Ryake or Rake, it is wrong...or is that Rong. Just no.
And I just can't get on Chris R's bandwagon. He is cute, as long as he does not sing. And then he starts with the scary faces and the nasal voice. Not good.
He's pleasant enough, but just not my cup of tea as well. He has some great moments, but more often than not, for me, he's nasally most of the time, and I don't really like thin voices on men.
