The time has finally arrived to pick the Top 12. I am not sure what to expect, it could go either way. I am preparing myself for Antonella and Sanjaya to stay. So which more deserving/talented ones will go in their place....we shall see..... I really have a love/hate relationship with this show.
Right into the group song "Stuck In The Middle With You". I've always loved this song for some reason and the group singalong was cheesy fun as usual.
They group the boys and the girls all together and dim the lights.....Blake and LaKisha were called up and BOTH are safe. Was there any doubt? Chris S. is called up by himself and Ryan makes him wait until after the break HA! He is also safe though. Next Phil Stacey and he looks like he already has his bags packed but is SAFE! He seemed very shocked at first, but then became emotional. He was in my bottom 2 last night, but I am glad he is staying.
Jared is called up and is not moving on to the Top 12. Its really too bad, but he was boring on Tuesday so its not suprising. Nice singout and his scary expressions from before were replaced by smiles tonight. Too bad he didn't sing like that on Tuesday, he might have made it.
Now its time for Chris R and Gina Glocksen, two people I really want to advance. They are holding hands and looking all Canthony. Ryan teases them and Gina says they are NOT! DATING! (not really, but HEE!). They are both SAFE though. YAY!
Carrie Underwood performed "Wasted". EEEEEEEE!!!! I will be posting a more detailed blog on this tomorrow, so check back!
More results....Antonella and Stephanie are both called up and I half expect both of them to be cut loose right there. Its just Antonella though, Stephanie is safe. Antonella does her singout and leaves the stage. Will we hear or see more of her again? Who knows....
Next up Haley and Sabrina and awww I feel bad for those two because one of them is leaving and its so intense. Haley is SAFE and wow this one is a shock! Not that she is a bad singer or anything, but Sabrina is so GOOD. Its seems like this was the "Screw you, Simon" vote that happens every Season. Simon was pretty awful to Haley, particularly with the whole "I can't even remember your name" stuff. Oh well, Sabrina pays for Simon's toolishness and has an awesome singout. I hope she gets a deal or something out of all this.
Ryan talks about the upcoming charity event that American Idol is doing at the end of April. More information about this can be found here. http://www.americanidol.com/news/view/?pid=329
The final elimination between Sundance and Sanjaya. I'd be fine with either of them leaving, but it should really be Sanjaya. Its SUNDANCE! The crowd actually gasps in suprise, Simon slow claps with a WTF look on his face and Paula is "speechless" - but not really because "its a singing competition, no offense to Sanjaya". LOL! How is Sanjaya supposed to take that statement, Paula?
Sundance has a good sense of humor about the whole thing, which is refreshing. I guess he gets more emotional over other people leaving rather than himself. He did his singout of "Jeremy", which unfortunately was just as bad as Tuesday night. Bad, bad song choice. I guess the Chicken Little effect is alive and well an worked for Sanjaya. Its a phenomenon that cannot be explained.

Wow. I am actually as speechless as Paula. I was prepared to see Antonella stay, and even Sanjaya, but Haley staying just came out of nowhere, and so was Sundance's departure too. I thought, between Haley and Sabrina, now that Antonella is out of the way, Sabrina is sure to stay. I guess Haley got the pity votes more than Antonella. Simon should have long learned his lesson from Scott, Melissa, Kevin, etc. His comment was harsh, and some might have took it personally to vote Haley to stay. But I think she'll suffer the same fate as Melissa did, as the "bad" girl who booted someone arguably more deserving out of the way.
Sundance is also a shock. I didn't see the boys' performance, but I thought he was one of the lead boys who had already built a fan base enough to survive. I thought it was either Brandon or Phil who'll get the boot while Sanjaya stays. Wow. And heh to Paula: "No offense to Sanjaya, but this is a singing competition." What else could that possible mean?! LOL! Props to Sundance for keeping the situation light: "Somebody call me! I need a job!"
Not looking at her controversies and sometimes snotty attitude, I realized Antonella isn't a totally bad singer. She needs some work, but her high notes and her little belting during her singout were pleasant enough to listen to. The song fits her. I think she would have made the top 12 competing against the girls last year. There's just no place for her in this season of diva belters. I do have a gut feeling this is not the last time we will see or hear from her.
Goodluck to the top 12 in your rough ride ahead, up until Melinda wins this thing. Heh! Especially to Haley and Sanjaya, who probably have huge bullseyes permanently planted on their backs now.
SERIOUSLY?! Sanjaya and Haley?! SERIOUSLY. *sigh*
Did you see Sabrina's face when she got the boot instead of Haley? Oh she was NOT happy.
Oh and Ryan asking Antonella what she'll remember most from her time on the show seemed kind of tacky. Did he think she would come out and say, "Well my best friends betraying me and much of America calling me a slut, of course Ryan. Good times."
Oh and does anyone else think that Ryan could have summarized their little project (that I still had to ask, 'what are they doing exactly?') a little better and possibly saved 1 extra minute in order to talk to Carrie?

You got that right (especially the Melinda part :-D)!
Oy! I'm shocked. Sanjaya is staying? Really? Seriously? Why? I was all prepared to enjoy the top 12 and now I've got to look at the Leify Garrett boy AGAIN! What a mean joke.
I'm sad to see Jared go, he was a good guy, he could sing, he just had a bad week. He looked a mix of genuine shock and pissed off. I was half expecting him to say "screw this" and walk off the stage without singing.
Glad to see Antonella go. Sorry sista but ya had to go! And was it just my imagination or did Jordin have a little grin on her face when Antonella was given the boot?
Poor Sabrina, she didn't deserve to go and Haley looked like she was going to fall apart. Hopefully she brings her A game next week instead of all these less than stellar performances. I want to be wow'd.
Did Sundance deserve to go instead of Sanjaya? NO! But I just don't think this was the competition for him. He may be better suited for Rockstar Supernova.
And how flippin great was Carrie! And Fiddle Boy even got some screen time, I love me some Fiddle Boy.
And was it just my imagination or did Jordin have a little grin on her face when Antonella was given the boot?.
I don't know about Jordin but Chris Sligh sure seemed to have a smug little look on his face when she was booted.
Speaking of bitchfaces....The one Sabrina had when Ryan told her the news was pretty incredible. I am not sure if its because she was just devastated, or if she really was having some EVIL Haley thoughts.
BTW, I reread this blog and noticed that I completely left off Chris R and Gina Glocksen. My bad, its been fixed. ;)

I loved Gina's response to Ryan asking how close she and Chris R really were. This is not verbatim but it was essentially "Shut up you little jerk. My boyfriend is upstairs." You go Gina!
I love Ryan and he can be cute and funny but sometimes he can just be an insensitive unthinking idiot.
And yet Chris didn't say a word to Ryan's little comment, he was more like..."yeah what she said".
Okay sooooo, Antonella has gone, but not forever I feel. Expectto see her on some trash TV or in a dodgy magazine. Harsh? Yes.
Moving on...
I can't believe Sabrina has gone. I'mnot actually bothered about Sundance to be honest, but Sanjaya should have gone first.
All in all, a bit of a shocker!
Did you guys notice, when Sanjaya walked to the top 12 chairs, no one even hugged him or moved to congratulate him? Poor guy.
I did notice that What. I've been feeling sorry for Sanjaya since the Top 24, but last night was really rough. The look on his face when Paula made her comment was really sad. At least Kevin Covais seemed to know how lucky he was and had a good sense of his real talent.
Sanjaya seems fragile though. That doesn't make Paula's comment any less true.

I have to say I didn't notice that but it is a little sad :(. Add insult to injury Paula then immediately goes on to say "It's a singing competition...no offense Sanjaya". Ouch.
