Soooooo, what is going to happen? Will America put Sanjaya out of his misery? Will Nick stay to bore us again or was it too little too late for Sundance? Will Antonella stay on, thus proving that the terrorists have indeed won? Will Alaina be voted off after two weak performances in a row? I can barely wait to find out.....
The group sang "Joy To The World" and while cheesy as all hell, I did enjoy this one.
First Men's Elimination: Phil borrowed one of Blake's fugly hats, but is safe! YAY Chris Sligh is SAFE! Sundance looks like he is going to have a breakdown, but is safe! Blake...omg I feel nervous.... IS SAFE!!!!!
Jared is called down and is toyed with a little bit, but is safe. Nick immediately got the Tall Quad treatment and was swiftly axed. He had a very classy singout and you could tell that the other idols really loved him.
First Women's Elimination: Stephanie is safe, Gina is safe, Sabrina is safe, Melinda is safe. No surprises here. Alaina was quickly axed as well and got choked up while saying goodbye and YES, it touched me. Laugh all you want! She chose to hug her friends instead of singing the first part of her singout and that was a good choice.
Kellie Pickler is back and sang a song she co-wrote, "I Wonder" and has grown as a singer since last year.
Second Men's Elimination: Chris R is safe! Brandon is safe! Sanjaya and AJ are called forward and Sanjaya is SAFE! What the?! Noooooooooo!!!!! Sanjaya is shocked and yep, I am too. I didn't have any illusions of AJ winning this, but I really felt he deserved to be in the Top 12 at least. He then gave an incredible singout which showed how wrong these results were.
Second Women's Elimination: Ryan doesn't screw with them, LaKisha and Haley are safe. Antonella, Leslie and Jordin are called to The Seal. Ryan does screw with Antonella (heh) but she is safe. Oh CRAP! Leslie goes home and does an awesome singout where she wonders why she scatted and America hates jazz. Awesome!

Wow, Sundance is quite the crier. Someone hand that man a tissue.
Well they got the eliminations half right in my book. Sanjaya and Antonella should have taken the place of AJ and Leslie.
Best sing out of the night actually goes to Leslie because even though she probably felt like she just got kicked in the stomach, she kept her sense of humor. "Why did I try and scat!" "America doesn't like jazz". Brilliant!
What do you bet no one ever sings the song "Feeling Good" on Idol again. The song is good and cursed. Two up. Two down.
As for the Picklebutt (do you know that's actually the name of her production company? Haha.) I thought she did a great job on her song. "I Wonder" is a really pretty song and it's a very personal song for her. I thought she did great on the show last night and I like the shorter hair.
What the heck? Antonella AND Sanjaya get to stay? Why? And before anoyone asks...yes I voted, just not for them!
I think Nick knew he was going and way to be for him to go out with class. Here's hoping he never sings "Fever" again.
Alaina just annoyed the heck out of me, I'm glad she's gone. But man was that a rough send out for her.
Ugghhh....how is it possible that Leify boy didn't get the boot? I liked AJ. I actually liked AJ's song last night better than when he sang it Tuesday.
And Leslie was so funny. Another classy exit. Wouldn't it have been cool though if she would have had AJ come and sing with her...a little send off duet?
Ohhhhhh! Sanjayer is a lovely boy but I liked AJ, he could sing. There are worse singers than him in the competition.
Oh and come on those of you actually voting for Barba, STOP!
Pickler looked good, was she carrying some silicone as some are suggesting? I'm not sure, there are some great push ups around now don't you know... oh and the hair? It's ok.
Get Antonella OUT!!
I thought she did great on the show last night and I like the shorter hair.
She did do well, but HATED the hair. She is a cute, young girl why make her look 20 years older?
Wow, Sundance is quite the crier. Someone hand that man a tissue.
Between he and Gina YIKES! They had better get a grip because the stress and goodbyes are only going to get worse.
I don't remember other seasons being this emotional so early in the competition.

Oh great, now we are going to get a lot of "y'allz just jellus" anonymous posts. Thanks Fork! ;)
Ohh sorry Spork, maybe I am jellus, I do apolugize, sori guyse!
*kiss kiss*
;)
Sure enough, Barba stays. And aside from being snotty the other night, she had the nerve to be totally shocked that she MIGHT be actually going home. Seriously! I'm flabbergasted too that Sanjaya stayed, but at least he had the courtesy or whatever to say that he was shocked that he was staying. I have a hard time believing that horny boys are actually picking up their phone and keep on hitting redial for Antonella. Seriously, the longer they keep her on the competition, the longer they'll have to wait before they see her in Playboy or Hustler. Do they really want that?!
I'm glad Melinda gave a bitch face when it was revealed that Barba is staying. I wonder if Gina's tears would have flown as freely if it was Barba who got the boot instead.
I never had illusions that AJ or Leslie will win this competition, but they don't deserve to be the 16th and 17th bootees either. I'm glad Paula had the balls to say that Idol is a singing competition but last night didn't show that. OTOH, they are also total idiots for putting Barba and Sanjaya through. I'll miss AJ's dancing to the beat on the sidelines while the women are performing. A classy exit too.
Is it just me, or Leslie's "America don't like jazz" is more like a dig to Barba staying than America actually not liking jazz?! Good for you, Leslie! I'll miss your kinda-unique, smoky voice. Too bad you got lost in the shuffle of the belters and wet t-shirt contests. You should have joined or posed for some too - maybe you would have bought yourself a couple of weeks more.
Pickler? I still don't like her. She bugs. BUT, her song is a thing of wonder (no pun intended, heh.). It's got a nice melody, more meaningful lyrics and she sings it very well too. But GAWD, you're what, 20? Celebrate being 20 for goodness' sakes! You'll get to be 40 too someday - don't rush it!
I actually really like Pickler's song and the meaning behind itis quite an emotional one. I wouldn't buy her album and I was actually very surprised that she was asked to support Brad but she's out there doing her thing.
The hair was just too round and too blonde and too old. Too much!
Someone mentioned that Kellie looked like she was channeling Tammy Wynette with the hair and the clothes and I'll admit she did look like she was embracing that old time country look and it was much too old for her. I know Dolly Parton is your idol but you don't have to dress like her Kellie.
I don't remember other seasons being this emotional so early in the competition.
Two words for you: Jessica Sierra

That's totally what I was thinking. Didn't Ryan mention the scandal to Hugh Hefner at the premiere of Paradise City on Tuesday? I think Hugh's words were "pretty girl".
Two words for you: Jessica Sierra
Another two words for you: Paris Bennett.
Ah yes...Paris. Almost forgot about her. Other that Sundance, have we had any boy criers though? Sundance was just having a breakdown last night.

Well maybe Hef will offer her something and get her off our television.
Other that Sundance, have we had any boy criers though?
I haven't watched all the seasons super carefully, but I can't recall any guys being at Sundance levels of emotion during the first 3 seasons. I remember Bo tearing up a little right before the AI4 winner was announced. Nobody from AI5 either because if Ace did at least there would have been no way to miss all the squeeing and swooning nationwide.
Maybe they are putting this group through some kind of psychological torture that other seasons were spared. Or the more likely reason is that Sundance thought he was leaving, but also misses his family. Being away from a new baby must be rough.
